A story about a son labeled a troublemaker at school and a mother who cannot hold her head up because of him was revealed.
On the 2nd, on the Channel A program Yojeum Yuga - My Precious Child, a mother raising a second-year middle school daughter and a sixth-grade son appeared and poured out her deep worries.
That day the mother said "He is so well-known at school that nobody doesn't know him," and said she receives urgent calls from the homeroom teacher several times a day because of her son's problematic behavior. She said "My heart trembles even when the phone rings" and drew sympathy by revealing the urgent messages she received from teachers and apology texts she sent to other parents.
The son continued repeated problematic behaviors at school, such as scribbling on a friend's clothes and stepping on a friend. The situation was not much different in daily life. While playing badminton with his sister and her friends, the child, during the match after his sister's mistakes continued, spat out derogatory remarks such as "stupid" and "You're dull, don't you understand?" Even when the sister's friends tried to stop him, his taunting and aggressive attitude did not stop, leaving everyone embarrassed.
Watching this, psychiatrist Oh Eun-young offered sharp analysis of the child's behavior. She said "The level and types of profanity are very varied," and pointed out it was "behavior that publicly humiliates the sister in front of her friends." She added, "This child has an 'imaginary audience' in his head. He feels everyone is watching him and paying attention to him," and explained, "In a situation of losing in a match, the desire to show power, to be noticed, and to stand at the center of the group manifested in this behavior."
Dr. Oh Eun-young also said, "If he had been alone with his sister, he likely would not have acted this far," and added that the gaze of those around him probably further provoked the child's aggressiveness.
