Runners give up or drop out with injuries amid heat soaring above 31 degrees, ambulances frequently travel up and down the course, and the scene quickly turns fierce. As participants reach the limits of both physical strength and mental endurance, Kian84 and Tsuki also face an unavoidable crisis.
Despite severe condition problems, Kian84 tried to calm himself and struggle to continue the race, but ultimately left the course and vomited up everything he had eaten. He briefly ran again thanks to residents' cheers and encouragement, only to repeat leaving the course. Kian84 said, "It feels like the time I spent living wildly is being judged in the afterlife," showing he could not hide his pain.
Tsuki also faced an unexpected crisis. After basking in the emotion of completing a first marathon in the early part, as the race entered the middle and later stages, she could not maintain her pace and eventually collapsed. Frustrated by a body that would not follow her will, Tsuki wept and kept murmuring to herself, "Legs, please hold on a little longer," creating a heartrending scene, the reports say.
Meanwhile, Kwon Hwa Woon appears beside the struggling Tsuki and steps in as a pacemaker. Kwon Hwa Woon checks Tsuki's condition, gives her water, and sometimes quietly stays by her side offering encouragement as if pushing from behind. Whether Tsuki can use Kwon Hwa Woon's help as a stepping stone to continue the race and what scenes the two's companionship will create raises further curiosity.
