In the final episode of tvN variety show 'Reply 1988' 10th anniversary special, which aired on the 2nd, the last story of the Ssangmundong family's 2 Days & 1 Night MT, reunited after 10 years to mark the 10th anniversary, unfolded.
During the "famous line quiz" game that day, a line from Sunwoo's Jinju was chosen. With a song hint given, Sunwoo's Jinju (Kim Seol), who was five years old 10 years ago, had grown up suddenly and made a surprise visit to the MT site, startling everyone.
When the production team introduced her as "Kyung-pyo's younger sibling has arrived," unlike the neighbors who approached with delight, family members Kim Sunyoung and Ko Kyung-pyo could not bring themselves to go forward.
Eventually the two broke into tears. Kim Sunyoung said, "In our house there was no father. We had a lot of sad things. Suddenly the three of us sitting here brings back the emotions from that time," and Ko Kyung-pyo, empathizing, cried out, "I'm losing it."
Hearing that Kim Seol was already in second year of middle school, Kim Sunyoung recalled, "She doesn't remember that time. My daughter is exactly the same age. She doesn't remember that time. I still remember seeing her last day of filming being carried on my back and leaving; it really felt like sending my daughter away."
She continued, "So what I resolved then was that I would never become that attached again. It was too hard. With the child actors I met afterward, I intentionally kept to myself when not filming. It was too sad to part after becoming attached," she confessed.
But Kim Seol does not remember. Ko Kyung-pyo said, "On set I kept holding her. But she had grown so much that when she came it was so welcome and surprising that I couldn't approach. But the feeling is strange. It's neither good nor sad, a feeling I've never experienced before," as he shed tears.
Kim Seol currently attends a gifted education center and surprised viewers by saying, "She attended school until sixth grade, engaged in gifted activities, and has now completed another gifted program."
