'Marry My Husband' director Park Won-guk presents 'Spring Fever.'
The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Spring Fever' (directed by Park Won-guk, written by Kim A-jung), scheduled to premiere on the 5th at 8:50 p.m., is a hot! pink romance of spring days that will melt the frozen hearts of teacher Yoon Bom (Lee Joo-been), who feels the cold wind blowing, and the man with a burning heart, Seon Jae-gyu (Ahn Bo-hyun).
'Spring Fever' has emerged as a highly anticipated work with director Park Won-guk, who previously achieved good results with 'Marry My Husband,' taking the helm. With the first broadcast three days away, director Park Won-guk revealed why he chose 'Spring Fever' as his next project.
Director Park said, I am grateful for the opportunity to meet viewers. Out of joy, I sometimes actually dance alone at home, he said. He added, I read the script so enjoyably. If 'Marry My Husband' offered a stimulating kind of fun that tingles the tongue, 'Spring Fever' is a delightful work that mobilizes every laughter cell to blow away stress in one refreshing burst, explaining why he took on the directing role.
Director Park defined 'Spring Fever' as a story about finding lost happiness and said, I thought it was important to express that process with sincerity. He noted his directing focus, saying, I concentrated on delivering natural laughter attuned to reality while unfolding the narrative.
Director Park did not spare praise for the actors. He said, Ahn Bo-hyun is not only thoroughly prepared but also has quick wit and a great sense of humor on set. I think he is the only actor who can portray Seon Jae-gyu from the original work. I cannot imagine Seon Jae-gyu without Ahn Bo-hyun in terms of physicality, acting ability and dialect. He continued, Lee Joo-been is excellent not only at delicate emotional acting but also at comedic performance. She showed a performance well suited to the role of 'Bom,' who comes out of darkness and finds the light, expressing his affection for the actors.
As a distinguishing feature of 'Spring Fever,' Director Park cited dialect. He emphasized, More than 90% of the actors are capable of using dialects naturally. Viewers will inevitably be swept away by the unique rhythm of the dialect.
Finally, Director Park named 'love,' 'laughter' and 'passion' as keywords that describe the work, and said, It is a story about loving us, without losing laughter and by exploding passion. I hope it becomes a work that gives comfort and healing to many people.
He added, If 'Marry My Husband,' which aired on Jan. 1, 2024, brought joy to viewers welcoming 2024, I hope 'Spring Fever,' which airs on Jan. 5, 2026, will be remembered as a drama that welcomes 2026 joyfully. I sincerely hope viewers, like Jae-gyu who finds his own happiness with courage, will welcome 2026 that way.
