Group AOA alum Kwon Mina posted a message suggesting an extreme choice on the first day of the new year, was rescued two hours later, shocking the public, and then deleted all related photos.
On the 1st, Kwon Mina posted a long message on her social media expressing her feelings.
She said, "Goodbye. And I'm sorry. You don't have to believe me and you can curse me all you want. All this time I shocked people with cruel scenes, and I kept posting only posts that made everyone tired enough to repeatedly talk and scold me, including things I did wrong, and I wasn't in a normal state, well.. even now.. but in all the incidents and situations I was truly wronged, I was so wronged that I still dream every day of the same scenes. I'm suffering," she said.
She went on to explain the background of the post: "If you haven't been in that situation, in that incident, other words come out and other rumors spread, and because I hate being wronged again I even tried bravely to attack them.. I ruined myself.. I have no material evidence, no CCTV, no recordings, so not only regarding that group's case but also as a victim of rape and injury that has been ongoing for four years now, the rape is acknowledged but the injury can't be proven," she said.
She added, "I really thank everyone who treated me kindly, loved me and treated me like a human being, and I'm sorry again.. I hope everyone remains happy, joyful, and that families keep a harmonious atmosphere and a pleasant life for a long time. I'm sorry."
Fans' concerns followed Kwon Mina's cryptic message, and about two hours later she posted a new message saying she had been rescued.
She described the situation, saying, "I lost consciousness.. if they had left me a little longer I really could have kept my promise today, but suddenly I heard some noise and they were shaking me."
She continued, "My consciousness kept going in and out, so inside I was begging.. please.. please.. but then I was rescued? I became like the boy who cried wolf.. but I will definitely keep my promise. I will disappear before your eyes. The prosecutor appealed the second‑trial verdict so I'm waiting, but I don't know if I can hold on, those who are not even human.. the world is fair = hypothesis.. instead of an obituary, there will be another insane article, too bad," she wrote.
Currently, the photos that had been posted along with the message on Kwon Mina's social media have been deleted. No further statements have been released since the post was removed, and internet users are expressing concern for her condition and sending messages wishing for her recovery.
Kwon Mina debuted with the group AOA in 2012 and left the team in 2019, after which she was embroiled in various conflicts and controversies. She claimed she had been bullied by members, and controversies arose over allegations of nurse abuse, coercion to transfer‑breakups, an apology via social media live stream, and questions about sincerity during explanations.
The incident is all the more regrettable because it occurred as she was preparing for her first solo fan meeting scheduled for the 23rd. Above all, voices say the individual's safety and recovery are the top priority.
