Actor Kim Young-gwang won the best actor award at the 2025 KBS Drama Awards.
On Dec. 31 last year, the 2025 KBS Drama Awards, held at KBS Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, opened amid intense interest as an event highlighting the leading figures who made KBS dramas shine this year. Breaking through fierce competition among a strong lineup of nominees, Kim Young-gwang, the lead of Walking On Thin Ice, was called as the best actor winner.
In Walking On Thin Ice, Kim Young-gwang played Lee Kyung, who works as an after-school art teacher by day and a drug dealer and club MD by night, leading the center of the story. He freely moved from the face of a model "mom's dream son" to the completely opposite hidden side, portraying the character's twist魅력. He also delicately expressed the anxiety and loneliness of a wounded person, while maintaining coldness and ultimately exploding, perfectly handling the flow of emotions across a wide emotional range to maximize immersion.
Accepting the honor of the best actor award, Kim Young-gwang opened his remarks by saying, "In Walking On Thin Ice, I took on the role of Lee Kyung and acted with care. I am very grateful to director Song Hyun-wook, writer Jeon Young-shin, the filming team and all the staff who helped me act." He continued, "I am truly grateful to senior actors Lee Young-ae and Park Yong-woo, who made me comfortable during filming. I am also thankful to and love my mother, my sister and my family watching at home, who silently supported and waited for me," leaving an emotional reflection.
In 2025, Kim Young-gwang made a weighty impression with versatile performances that crossed genres, including Walking On Thin Ice, Unmasked and the film First Ride. With a further acting transformation promised through this year's next project, Recharge Me, attention is focused on his upcoming activities.<
