Actor Kim Dan won the rookie award at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards with her debut work.
Kim Dan was honored with the male rookie actor award at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards held on the 31st.
The SBS Friday-Saturday drama she appears in, 'Try: We become a miracle,' is an unpredictable, eccentric-director story about Joo Ga-ram and the perennial last-place Hanyang High School rugby team racing toward a national sports festival victory, a comic coming-of-age sports drama. In the drama, Kim Dan plays new team member Moon Woong of the Hanyang High School rugby team, vividly portraying the youthful energy that races toward dreams and leaving a strong impression on viewers.
She was praised for realistically conveying the tension and excitement of joining the team as a new player, and the feelings of frustration and growth, injecting fresh vitality into the drama. In particular, despite being her first work, Kim Dan proved an unexpectedly strong presence with steady acting that did not lose the character's narrative through the final episode.
Right after winning the rookie actor award, Kim Dan said, "I was happy to be able to film with truly wonderful and respected seniors, and I am very happy to receive this award," and added, "I will do my best and work hard so I can continue to show good performances." She then expressed gratitude, saying, "I don't express it to my family much, but I love them. Happy New Year."
Kim Dan is expected to continue an active acting career in 2026. She appeared in "Kimchi," part of the KBS 2TV one-act project series Love: Track that aired on Dec. 21, and she is set to make her big-screen debut with the film Night on Earth, which began post-production after wrapping filming in October and aims for a release.
