News of voice actress Song Do-soon's death has been followed by a wave of tributes in the entertainment industry.
Comedian Kim Dae-beom shared an article containing the news of Song Do-soon's death on his social media on the 1st and wrote, "What is this happening on the first day of the new year?" He added, "Song Do-soon, the teacher with the wonderful voice who gave me beautiful memories of my childhood, please let many good voices be heard in heaven as well. Thank you for everything" and mourned the deceased.
Singer Namgung Ok-bun also expressed her condolences for the deceased through social media the same day. Namgung Ok-bun recalled, "Broadcasting's great star Song Do-soon has passed away," and said, "She was a sister who always stayed by my side with a great resonance." She remembered the times and memories they shared in life and expressed her sorrow, saying, "Such a valuable person left too soon."
Song Do-soon passed away on Dec. 31 last year while battling a chronic illness. She was 76. The funeral hall was set up at Asan Medical Center funeral hall in Seoul, and the funeral procession is on the 3rd.
Born in 1949, the late voice actress began her career in 1967 by joining TBC Voice Actors Theater Company as part of its third class, and continued her activities as a KBS Voice Actors Theater Company member in its ninth class after the media consolidation in 1980. She left a deep impression on the public as the voice of Cruella de Vil in the animation 101 Dalmatians and as the narrator for Tom and Jerry aired on MBC.
She was also loved for her familiar voice while hosting TBS Radio's Together on the evening road from 1990 to the late 2000s, and she actively performed by appearing on entertainment programs such as Seba-kwa and Come to play: empathy talk show.
After news of Song Do-soon's death was reported, junior entertainers and the public have been paying their respects and honoring the deceased's final journey in their own ways.<
