Singer Namgung Okbun shared the last moments of voice actress Song Do-sun before her death, expressing her condolences.
Namgung Okbun posted a long memorial message on her social media on the 1st with the words "Voice actress Song Do-sun! A great star has fallen." She said, "Singer Song Do-sun unni, a great star of the broadcasting world who had been in a coma for ten days and whom I thought would shake it off and get up, has passed away," conveying deep sorrow. She recalled memories of traveling and playing golf with actress Yoon So-jung and mourned, saying, "Both are no longer by my side."
Namgung Okbun also recalled, "She liked the business cards and drawings I made very much and always gave me strength with compliments," and said, "Unni, who led everyone with a shadow and resonance as big as her tall height, left after a long battle with illness." She added the painful note that "on Aug. 24 she met me, enjoyed naengmyeon and bulgogi deliciously and showed signs of improvement, and that appearance became the last."
She said, "From home shopping narration to any broadcast, you can no longer meet Song Do-sun. Someone too precious left us too soon," and revealed, "The photos taken together last summer pained my heart so I could not post them; they became the last photos I kept in my life." She concluded the post, saying, "A wonderful unni, an unni who was loved and who loved. I offer my deepest condolences to the deceased."
According to the bereaved family, the late Song Do-sun passed away at around 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Konkuk University Medical Center in Seoul from a chronic illness. She was 77.
Born in 1949, the late voice actress joined the TBC voice acting troupe as part of its third class in 1967 and worked as a KBS voice actor in its ninth class after the media consolidation in 1980. She hosted Single Bungle Show, Evening's Hope Song, and Merry Sketch, and acted in dramas such as Living Is, Because I Love, the Dalsu series, and The Small Station. She won public affection for dubbing animations such as Pat and Mat and 101 Dalmatians and for narrating the MBC version of Tom and Jerry, and she participated as a narrator in the 2021 live-action film Tom & Jerry.
The funeral wake was set up in room 23 of the Asan Medical Center funeral hall in Seoul, and the funeral procession will be held at 6:20 a.m. on the 3rd. [photo] 'SNS' [OSEN]
