KATSEYE's new song 'Internet Girl' will be officially released at 12:00 a.m. on Jan. 2. It is a fan favorite track that KATSEYE gives to global fans on the first day of the new year.
'Internet Girl' is a song characterized by a flashy dance-pop sound and an addictive hook. The witty lyrics that play off the various gazes and reactions poured out in the online world are also impressive, amplifying KATSEYE's unique cheerful charm.
The song was first unveiled during KATSEYE's North American tour BEAUTIFUL CHAOS, which recently concluded successfully, and received a strong response. During the concert, the six members delivered a performance notable for popping-style brisk hand movements and hip moves, and even though the song was unknown, fans soon followed their dance and singing.
As a song that satirizes excessive internet culture, KATSEYE's confident attitude and explosive energy draw viewers in. The members' lively facial acting and point choreography expressing emoji shapes are also woven throughout, adding fun.
Formed through the audition project 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' based on the 'K-pop methodology,' KATSEYE debuted in the U.S. in June 2024 and is regarded as a representative success story of the 'multi-home, multi-genre' strategy led by HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk.
Last year they put Gnarly and Gabriela on the Billboard Hot 100 for an extended period, and their second EP BEAUTIFUL CHAOS reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200. They have also drawn attention by being nominated in the Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance categories at the 68th Grammy Awards to be held on Feb. 1.
