'2025 SBS Entertainment Awards' saw Shin Dong-yeob's remarks about who might win the grand prize and the reversal of expectations become the highlight of the ceremony. In particular, the grand prize went to Lee Sang Min, not Jee Seokjin.
On the 30th broadcast of the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards, Lee Sang Min won the grand prize.
That day Lee Suji told Shin Dong-yeob, "You debuted 35 years ago, but on 'My Little Old Boy' you only make people laugh. The animals are struggling," then cracked her characteristic joke and asked, "Who will you push for the Entertainment Awards?"
In response, Shin Dong-yeob said, "I think it might come from among people who have never won the grand prize," mentioned Seo Jang-hoon, and added, "He has really worked hard at SBS but still hasn't received it." He went on to say of Lee Sang Min, "Some say he was the one who caused 'Dolsing Fourmen' to be canceled, but even so, if he wins the grand prize it will be meaningful."
He added, "Still, I hope Jee Seokjin wins this year," and "I think someone who has never won the grand prize will get it." However, the result was different from expectations.
That day the grand prize winner was Lee Sang Min. Immediately after the grand prize was announced, Lee Sang Min, looking incredulous, said, "No, no," with a flustered expression, and Jee Seokjin coolly embraced Lee Sang Min to congratulate him. Yu Jae-seok also said, "Good job," and gave a warm hug, adding to the heartwarming moment.
In his acceptance speech Lee Sang Min said, "I've worked quietly on my own without a company. I felt this year was the most uncertain," and added, "I just did 'Dolsing Fourmen' as prepared and had fun, so I'm grateful for this opportunity. I will repay SBS for its lifelong favor." He especially said, "I've sorted through all the hard moments, and this year I married the person I love," crediting his wife and receiving applause.
