Choo Shin-soo revealed a story about nearly leaving for the United States in the past, putting a game aside.
On the 31st, a video titled "Thank you for everything" was posted on the YouTube channel 'HaWonmi HaWonmi'.
On that day, Ha Won-mi said that because her husband Choo Shin-soo is often absent, when a problem occurs she solves everything first and then calls Choo Shin-soo to inform him.
She added, "The time Choo Shin-soo found out while the situation was unresolved was when I caught COVID. I was in the United States when I first caught COVID. At that time in Korea they were numbering 1 and 2," recalling that she contracted it in the U.S. while Choo Shin-soo was in Korea.
At the time, Choo Shin-soo, who was in the middle of the baseball season in Korea, tried to drop everything and rush to the United States. Ha Won-mi said, "I got a call in the early morning. I thought the game had been canceled, but when I answered he said he had taken a COVID test and was on his way to the airport."
She continued, "My husband said, 'You caught COVID and there is no one to look after the kids, so I'm going to the U.S. to take care of you,'" and explained, "Our husband emailed the team saying his wife had COVID and there was no one to look after the kids, so he might have to go to the United States."
Reporters who were stationed at the stadium learned of this and articles began to appear, and messages flooded acquaintances. Because COVID was severe in the early days, Choo Shin-soo said, "Can baseball even go on? Baseball can't go on. I wasn't going to play the game that evening; I went to the emergency room to get a COVID test and was just preparing to leave the next morning."
Then Ha Won-mi said, "What would have happened if you had come?" and added, "I really said if you come it's divorce. I wasn't that sick. It doesn't make sense that you'd drop a game and come. 'What if you really come? Then it's just a divorce,' I said."
Saying he ultimately did not go to the United States because of his wife's firm stance, Choo Shin-soo showed affection, saying, "Family comes first. Unconditionally first. Baseball isn't something you do your whole life, right? Family is with me for life, so what could be more important?"
