Vipom will acquire AM Entertainment, which represents recently married Kim Woo-bin and Shin Mina.
Vipom Studio, a comprehensive entertainment company (hereinafter "Vipom"), will acquire the management company AM Entertainment (hereinafter "AM"), which represents actors Kim Woo-bin, Shin Mina and Ahn Bo-hyun, strengthening its competitiveness across the content industry.
This acquisition is part of Vipom's "IP-centered comprehensive content·entertainment platform" strategy. Vipom plans to further strengthen its competitiveness in the global K-content market by internalizing the entire content value chain—from planning, production, investment, distribution and marketing of content and brands to artist management.
Earlier in May, Vipom established ABM Company, a management firm specializing in rookie actors (hereinafter "ABM"), declaring an expansion beyond simple management into an "IP incubating platform" focused on artist branding, content linkage and strategies tailored to digital natives. Through the acquisition of AM, it is expected to create synergies across related businesses, covering rookies to top actors.
So far, Vipom has internalized diverse industry areas such as music, film, drama, performances, commerce, publishing and F&B, securing both profitability and growth through an IP expansion strategy based on OSMU (One Source Multi Use). With this acquisition, Vipom has completed a system that organically links the entire process—from content planning, production, investment, distribution and marketing centered on actor IPs with global recognition such as Kim Woo-bin, Shin Mina and Ahn Bo-hyun—to management business.
Accordingly, Vipom is expected to expand strategic collaboration between its in-house planned and produced works and its artists, strengthen its negotiating power with global OTTs and overseas producers, and build a three-dimensional revenue model linking advertising and brand businesses with global fandom-based management.
A Vipom official said this acquisition was a strategic decision for the company's medium- to long-term growth and to strengthen content competitiveness, and added that the company will continue to expand its position as a comprehensive content·entertainment corporation based on diverse IPs. The official added that Vipom will prioritize respecting each artist's individuality and career, and combine its OSMU business infrastructure and marketing capabilities to actively support its artists to continue stable and long-term activities.
AM represents Kim Woo-bin, Shin Mina and Ahn Bo-hyun, among many other actors with solid acting skills. After the acquisition, the existing management approach and actor-centered operating philosophy will be maintained, while activities will be gradually expanded through linkage with Vipom's various content·brand·marketing businesses. Through this, AM's artists are expected to gain broader opportunities across the content industry beyond traditional management.
Meanwhile, Vipom is a comprehensive content corporation that independently owns infrastructure across film, drama, music, commerce, publishing, F&B and advertising. In the film industry, despite being a new distribution company, it has produced successive hits such as "Firefighter," "Hitman 2," "Seungbu" and "Noise," recording the highest distribution revenue in the first half of this year. In particular, Vipom has solidified differentiated competitiveness by building its own "digital sentiment-based distribution company" model that combines data analysis and digital marketing.
