MONSTA X (MONSTA X) member Kihyun completed a flawless run as the Veiled Musician until the end.
Kihyun wrapped up his appearance on Veiled Musician, which was first released on Netflix on Nov. 12, on the 31st. Veiled Musician is an audition judged solely on contestants' voices, and Kihyun drew attention each episode as a judge with assessments filled with his experience and genuine passion for music.
Kihyun stood out as a versatile judge, delivering empathetic evaluations as well as cool, objective analysis. In particular, his practical advice and feedback as an artist led to richer judging that increased viewers' immersion and at the same time drew out contestants' hidden abilities.
Kihyun's active reactions also stood out. After listening to contestants' songs, Kihyun freely offered praise such as "I think I love this person" or "I've thought people like this were necessary, and they showed up exactly," boosting contestants' morale and creating a warm atmosphere that energized the broadcast.
Moreover, Kihyun also showed his artistry by releasing the track "Bad Liar" with contestant "Jung Dong-myeon Kang Cheol-seong." It is a track from Kihyun's first solo album YOUTH, and in the third-round duet mission released on Dec. 17, Kihyun personally selected the song considering the contestants' vocal characteristics and delivered a perfect duet stage, conveying the emotion again through the released track.
Amid these diverse activities, in the final round released on the 31st, Kihyun raised anticipation for the stage, saying "I really wanted to let the audience hear the contestants' songs," and meticulously described each contestant's stage while devoting himself to judging until the end, perfectly concluding his role on Veiled Musician.
Through his agency Starship Entertainment, Kihyun said he felt cautious and uncertain about what advice or evaluations to give when he became a judge, but seeing contestants' passionate and sincere stages brought back moments when he worried about survival experiences and vocals, allowing him to naturally convey his true feelings. He added that the process also rekindled his own passion for music. He thanked MONBEBE (the official fan club name) and viewers for supporting his new challenge and said he wants to show many more sides of himself in the future.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X, of which Kihyun is a member, recently successfully completed the United States' largest year-end event, the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour. They will hold their new world tour The X : NEXUS at Seoul KSPO Dome from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.
