'human vitamin' Chuu's first full-length album is slowly unveiling its veil.
On the 31st, agency ATRP raised anticipation for the album by releasing a highlight medley video of Chuu's first full-length album 'XO, My Cyberlove' on its official social media channels.
The released Highlight medley video contains portions of a total of nine tracks. The video plays inside a circular CD-shaped object with handmade knitting details tied with thread, and the analog mood is emphasized by rough color smears and film texture. On screens where credit text and video are overlaid, figures and landscapes presumed to be Chuu switch rapidly, conveying the sensation of music stored and played back like memories inside a CD. This staging visually expands the dreamy, analog sensibility that runs throughout the album and heightens curiosity about the mood of each track.
Chuu's first full-length album 'XO, My Cyberlove' is a work that delicately captures changing 'forms of relationships' in an era where reality and virtuality overlap. It will portray a modern love story by expressing the feelings of love transmitted through digital signals with Chuu's distinctive vocal presence and sensibility.
The title track of the same name, 'XO, My Cyberlove,' is a dreamy analog pop track that blends sparkling synth sounds, an '80s texture and the refined energy typical of K-pop. Chuu's delicate vocals harmonize over the rhythmically flowing melody, raising expectations that it will convey a deeper emotion.
Also included are the dark pop ballad 'Canary,' which captures cinematic sound and emotional density; the tasteful indie·alternative pop 'Cocktail Dress'; and the refreshing pop 'Limoncello,' notable for its bright and playful tempo, showcasing the album's diverse moods.
Also, the synth-pop 'Teeny Tiny Heart,' which cheerfully depicts the confusion of a small heart in love; the Afrobeats pop 'Love Potion,' which captures the momentum of a life that keeps moving forward; and the dreamy R&B 'Heart Tea Bag,' which portrays the moment emotions slowly steep in the rain, reveal Chuu's signature sensibility in a more three-dimensional way.
Added to these are the pop number 'Hide & Seek,' expressing the playful push and pull of affectionate feelings, and the hyper rock·pop track 'When the first snow falls, let's meet there (Loving You!),' which is impressive for its explosive energy. Composed of nine tracks in total, this album will three-dimensionally complete Chuu's musical identity and wide spectrum.
Meanwhile, Chuu's first full-length album 'XO, My Cyberlove' will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on Jan. 7 next year.
