Broadcaster Jang Young-ran made a bold decision to change her appearance ahead of the 2026 new year.
On the afternoon of the 31st, a video titled "48-year-old Jang Young-ran reveals all procedures that make her look 15 years younger" was posted on the YouTube channel "A급 장영란".
Jang Young-ran previewed an "eye surgery" with the cryptic line "remember these eyes well," drawing attention. The procedure she chose was none other than "eyeliner tattoo removal."
She honestly revealed the appearance worries she had been hiding. Jang Young-ran said, "Because of the eyeliner tattoo my eyes look droopy and I look older," adding, "As time passed the tattoo color gradually turned bluer, and I decided to remove it to start anew in 2026."
The procedure was not smooth. The director warned, "After the procedure swelling will be severe and for a few days you may hear people ask, 'Did you get double eyelid surgery?'." In response, Jang Young-ran said, "You must be cautious about anything done to the face," showing her nervousness, and added a detailed request: "At least make the tail of the eyebrow tattoo not visible."
What especially surprised viewers was the anesthesia process. After inserting a thick lens to protect her eyes before the procedure, Jang Young-ran began anesthetizing the area around her eyes with a "giant syringe" that appeared next. Even though the situation involved considerable pain, Jang Young-ran endured without a single scream or flinch, drawing admiration from the on-site medical staff.
A watching nurse said, "You are enduring it so well," unable to hide her surprise, and after enduring the pain Jang Young-ran safely completed the tattoo removal procedure.
