Actor Seo Kang-jun took home the grand prize for Undercover High School.
On the 30th broadcast of the 2025 MBC Drama Awards, Kim Sung-Ju and actress Lee Sun-bin served as MCs, and IU and Byeon Wooseok, who will share the screen in 21st Century Grand Madam, presented the award for drama of the year. The nominees included Oh My Ghost Clients, Motel California, Undercover High School, and Moon River, with Undercover High School taking the top prize.
Then the grand prize went to Seo Kang-jun of Undercover High School. On stage, Seo Kang-jun said, I have to say how I feel now: rather than feeling happy, I am very embarrassed. I'm so surprised and embarrassed, and he expressed gratitude to the production staff.
Seo Kang-jun said, My agency CEO, all the staff, thank you. And thank you to the cast of "Undercover." My family, my mother and father. Be healthy and I love you. And my older sister. You got married, congratulations, live well. Congratulations to my brother-in-law on becoming family, he said, drawing laughter.
He said, This was the first work I shot after returning from the military. I missed this set so much. For more than 10 years acting I always thought I should be thankful and cherish it, but I somehow honestly seemed to have forgotten. After spending countless time in the military I missed this set so much, and through "Undercover" receiving such a weighty award makes me embarrassed and surprised, he said, offering thanks.
He continued, While filming I often thought that I could be replaced at any time. I had this thought a lot. I think a lot and worry a lot while acting, but when I look around there are many people working harder than me. There are many very great people. Why am I standing here holding this award? Why am I getting a spot on the set? I can only think that I was lucky, he said, showing humility.
Finally he said, No one knows how long I will do this job, but until the day I finish I do not want to be replaced. So I will research, think and act more desperately. Thank you.
