Actor Jang Shin-young received the honor of the grand prize and expressed affection for her family.
On the 30th broadcast of the 2025 MBC Drama Awards, Kim Sung-Ju and actor Lee Sun-bin served as MCs, and the previous year's presenters Seo Jun-young and Oh Seung-a appeared for the daily drama/single-episode category grand acting award; female nominees included Shim Yi-young for "Kind Seon-Joo," Jang Shin-young for The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun, and Choi Jung-yoon for "Kind Seon-Joo," and the winner was Jang Shin-young.
On stage, Jang Shin-young began, "To the writer who wrote our drama's script, you must have had a hard time. Thank you for all your hard work. Thank you for writing such good words and a great work. I don't know if the director is watching, but I was really thirsty for acting, and I'm so grateful that you gave me a character so I could act."
She continued, "And I want to say thank you to the staff who worked for nearly a year and endured so much. Above all, I'm so grateful to my family," which drew attention.
She also said, "The truth is I'm working alone right now, and when I thought about doing a long project it felt daunting. I worried a lot about how I could carry a long work by myself," which drew attention.
Meanwhile, earlier Jang Shin-young's husband Kang Kyung-jun ended the lawsuit over the alleged affair by withdrawing the complaint. Jang Shin-young said, "I had many conversations with my husband, and he repeatedly blamed and reflected on himself. We went through a difficult and painful time, but we intend to live again as one family for the sake of the children. It is extremely delicate, but I ask that people refrain from excessive criticism toward my husband," she said.
