Actor Kang Tae-oh took home the best actor award.
On the 30th broadcast of the 2025 MBC Drama Awards, Kim Sung-Ju and actor Lee Sun-bin hosted as MCs, Yoo Yeonseok presented the mini-series institutional sector award, and male nominees included Moon River's Kang Tae-oh, Undercover High School's Seo Kang-jun, Mary Kills People's Lee Min-ki, and Oh My Ghost Clients' Jung Kyungho. Among the nominees, the honored winner was Kang Tae-oh. With this, Kang Tae-oh became a two-time winner following the best couple award.
On stage, Kang Tae-oh laughed, I want to express my thanks while standing here to Sun-bin, who at the beginning of preparing for the drama gave advice on the local dialect when we were at the start of the work.
He recalled, I wanted to always appear relaxed on set when I debuted and my early career lacked experience. I thought as time passed and I aged I would naturally become that way. I need to show more in the future, but rather, as experience accumulates the sense of responsibility, weight and burden for the next work becomes heavier, so I get very nervous and enter work in a more worried state.
He said, But I think "Moon River" was a work that brought me the emotions of having taken a trip. I really enjoyed being on set, and I feel like I spent about eight months like a family, touring Korea's beautiful scenery in a warm atmosphere with great actors and staff. I want to thank the director who made that set harmonious, made me realize once again that I was enjoying acting after a long time, and made me remember that acting is enjoyable. I also thank the writer who beautifully penned the theme of love called Yeon-sim. I thank the many seniors and juniors who all set off on the trip together, and Kim Se-jeong, Kang Yi's partner.
Finally he said, I am so, so grateful to my family who always loves me unconditionally and stands by my side. I am so, so grateful to the company president and the general manager who work behind the scenes so that the actor Kang Tae-oh can do well. Above all, the managers who were more like family than family, who cared for me more than themselves and put me first — I am so, so grateful. I will greet you in 26 years with a new look.
