"Could my parents have sent me back?" Kim Su-yong, revisiting the chilling dream he had 20 minutes before his cardiac arrest
Comedian Kim Su-yong recalled meeting his already-deceased parents in a dream before he suffered cardiac arrest from acute myocardial infarction and nearly died, leaving a deep impression.
On the 29th, the YouTube channel Kimsook TV released a video titled "The one who returned from death, Kim Su-yong.. the story of that day (ft. Lim Hyeong-jun, Gapyeong fire station paramedics)."
The video featured Kim Su-yong, who recently went into cardiac arrest from acute myocardial infarction, Lim Hyeong-jun, who helped perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the time, and host Kim Sook, who together revisited the tense moments.
Kim Sook revealed photos from the scene and explained, "We did CPR for about 10 minutes, and the paramedics did it for about 20 minutes. For a total of 30 minutes, my brother showed no sign of breathing at all," and added, "The situation was so serious that police even conducted an investigation." Earlier, Kim Su-yong also said, "Even after using the defibrillator seven times, his heart didn't come back, so I thought he wouldn't recover and was headed to the morgue."
Afterward Kim Sook asked, "Did anything definitely change?" and Kim Su-yong confessed, "My mind has become much more at ease. The frantic feeling is gone."
What drew particular attention was the dream he had two days before the cardiac arrest. Kim Su-yong said, "Both my parents passed away last year and the year before, but two days ago they appeared in my dream," and recalled, "They weren't people who had passed away, we were simply living in the same house. My father held out pajamas and said, 'Wear this,' and I put them on as if it was nothing."
Kim Sook asked, "Did your parents look bright?" and Kim Su-yong answered, "They looked fine." Kim Sook, choking up, said, "It really feels like mom and dad said, 'It's not your turn yet,' and sent you back," which brought solemnity to the set. When Kim Su-yong asked back, "So did their appearance in my dream two days ago mean that?" Kim Sook replied, "It seems they helped you. Their healthy appearance was very impressive," expressing her emotion.
The mood then lightened with Kim Su-yong's characteristic humor. He joked, "The grim reapers were lined up," and when Kim Sook retorted, "Now you're making this up," he laughed, "My name was mistakenly listed so they sent me back," bringing laughter. Kim Sook smiled and said, "How fortunate it is that we can make jokes like this."
Meanwhile, the three directly visited the Gapyeong fire station paramedics who saved Kim Su-yong to offer their thanks. A paramedic explained, "We used the defibrillator 11 times and administered drugs in between," and added, "It's rare to come back with that number of attempts." Kim Su-yong added, "The doctor said, 'It's divine luck that he looks this fine after cardiac arrest,'" expressing further astonishment.
Kim Su-yong's story of returning from the brink of death has given many people a deep resonance as a moment where miraculous survival and longing for his parents met.
