As controversy surrounding comedian Park Narae continues, the so-called "Narae bar" episode that aired in the past is being talked about again. It is the scene in which travel creator GwakTube's invitation was flatly refused by Park Narae.
The scene was shown on the MBN variety show Jun Hyun-moo Plan, which aired in May last year. At the time, Jun Hyun-moo was heading to Muan with GwakTube and Son Tae Jin when he called Park Narae to ask for restaurant recommendations and opened by saying, "There is a man who wants to talk to you one last time. This friend is a bit young."
Expecting an idol, Park Narae retorted, "An idol?" but when GwakTube introduced himself she let out a short sigh and showed a subtle reaction. Then when GwakTube said, "If you need me, call me to the Narae bar anytime," Park Narae immediately drew a line, asking, "You don't drink, do you?"
Even though GwakTube explained, "I drink," Park Narae again refused the "Narae bar" invitation, saying, "It seems you don't drink. Alcohol is all harm and no good. I'll drink it all myself." Later, during the call with Jun Hyun-moo, she was seen hastily trying to end the conversation by saying, "Please tell him I'm sincere," which provoked laughter.
At the time the scene was treated as a lighthearted entertainment incident, but it resurfaced recently as various allegations surrounding Park Narae emerged. The "Narae bar," which Park Narae had personally created and which drew attention, is also naturally being reexamined.
Meanwhile, Park Narae has been sued by former managers on multiple charges including abuse of power, special injury, and violations of the Medical Service Act. The court accepted the former managers' petition for provisional seizure on real estate worth 100 million won, and police investigations are under way as mutual complaints and accusations continue between the parties. In relation to this, Park Narae has said she will suspend broadcasting activities until all controversies are resolved.<
