Chef Im Seong-keun, who appears on Netflix's Culinary Class Wars: Culinary Class Wars season 2 (hereinafter "Culinary Class Wars 2"), shared his characteristically cheerful recent news.
On the 29th, Im Seong-keun revealed on his SNS, "On the way back from a Hansik Daechan side-dish factory in Gimcheon, I stopped by a grilled bulgogi restaurant." He said he was troubled after hearing the owner complain, "We got no-shows from 10 people," and empathized, "As a prospective owner about to open one location soon, it hurt even more for no reason."
After tasting the pre-grilled bulgogi, Im Seong-keun confessed, "It was so good I polished off four servings." He added that to help out he taught his "Im-jjang's special secret recipe," joking, "I opened up one more of the 50,000 sauces," drawing laughs. He had earned the nickname "the 50,000-sauce master" through "Culinary Class Wars 2." He also showed the cute potted plant he received as a token of thanks, conveying the warm atmosphere on site.
He did not forget to support small business owners and showed his trademark boastful charm, saying, "I hid under a hat so people might not recognize me (haha), but immediately—bam!—I met and greeted fans from Daegu who recognized me and had a happy day."
Meanwhile, Im Seong-keun added about Culinary Class Wars 2 episodes 8–10, "Please look forward to what will happen in this episode," and closed by saying, "Please continue to show a lot of interest in Im-jjang."
In episodes 4–7 of Culinary Class Wars 2, released on the 23rd, the round-3 black-and-white team match was held, and Chef Im Seong-keun carried the team as the sauce lead, leading the team to victory in the first match. His confident remarks and boasts, which sometimes came off as swagger—such as "If I were to exaggerate, I know about 50,000 kinds of sauce" and "It's simply the best (in taste)"—made other chefs uneasy at times, but he ultimately proved his formidable skill. Chef Hou Deok-juk actively supported Chef Im Seong-keun in the process.
Chef Im Seong-keun won as part of Olive's Hansik Daecheop 3 Seoul team, and even then his great skills combined with his full-of-bravado character won much love.
