'Show Me the Money 12' has been drawing intense interest even before it airs. The cumulative views of the teasing content released through official social media channels (YouTube·TikTok·Instagram combined, same basis hereinafter) surpassed 22 million views, proving the anticipation for the new season.
'Show Me the Money' is South Korea's representative hip-hop survival program that has produced numerous star rappers and hit songs since its first broadcast in 2012. The twelfth season, 'Show Me the Money 12', returning after about three years, is being co-produced for the first time in the series with domestic leading over-the-top platform TVING (TVING), promising an expanded viewing experience. In addition, with a record-high number of applicants, expectations for the emergence of a "legendary season" have been further raised.
In particular, various teasing contents released through official social media channels such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok became the center of attention even before the broadcast. The cypher video of Lee Young-ji, Superbee and JUSTHIS released during the applicant recruitment period instantly raised interest in the program. Among them, Lee Young-ji's winner cypher video recorded more than 2.3 million views and received a heated response.
The producer lineup video that was released next also received a positive response. A total of eight producers were revealed, including ZICO·Crush, GRAY·Loco, Jay-Tong·Hucky Shibaseki, Lil Moshpit·Park Jaebeom, prompting reactions such as "the lineup is legendary" and "I'm even looking forward to the tracks."
The main trailer video, which previewed appearances by some participants including Kim Ha-on, Redeye, Minami, Millie and Heo Jung-seng, is also receiving a heated response, surpassing 4.1 million views. In addition, videos capturing the producers' on-site reactions and content that mashed up past seasons have been released, further raising expectations.
Interest in audience applications is also intense. Approximately 15,000 applicants flooded the recruitment for on-site audiences for the "producer special performance," which was held from Dec. 19 to 24, proving high interest.
