ADOR filed a lawsuit seeking damages against Danielle of NewJeans, her family and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
On the 30th, according to legal sources, the penalty and damages claim lawsuit filed by ADOR against Danielle, her family and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin was assigned to Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 31 (Director General Nam In-su).
The court is hearing the shareholder agreement termination and put option related lawsuit between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
ADOR is reported to have claimed about 43.1 billion won in damages from Danielle, Danielle's family and former CEO Min.
Earlier on the 29th ADOR announced the termination of Danielle's exclusive contract. ADOR said Danielle, as a member of NewJeans and an artist under ADOR, was judged difficult to continue with the company, and today the company notified the termination of the exclusive contract. It also said the company will hold legally responsible one member of Danielle's family who bears significant responsibility for causing this dispute and for NewJeans' departure and delayed return, and former CEO Min Hee-jin.
Regarding the lawsuit the company said it will file today a complaint for penalty and damages against Danielle, and added that because legal procedures will follow it is difficult to provide details, but that acts violating the exclusive contract occurred such as entering into contracts that conflict with the exclusive contract, engaging in independent entertainment activities, or damaging the honor or credit of the company and NewJeans, and despite a demand for correction no correction was made within the deadline so termination was notified.
On the penalty and damages amount for Danielle the company said it is difficult to disclose specific damage amounts, but the penalty will follow the formula already set in the exclusive contract.
