Actor Ko Doo-shim's first reality variety show, the mysterious pop-up hotel "Hotel Dokkaebi," finally lifts its veil.
On the 30th MBC Every1 announced that the new variety program "Hotel Dokkaebi" will premiere on Jan. 20, 2026.
"Hotel Dokkaebi" is a high-end healing reality show in which Korea's representative stars become "dokkaebi (hoteliers)" and offer foreign guests a special day at a hanok hotel in Jeju, based on the distinctive worldview of a "mysterious pop-up hotel that appears and disappears," showcasing Korea's traditional beauty and warmth.
"Hotel Dokkaebi" was planned to share Korea's traditional beauty and warm "jeong" with foreign guests visiting Korea at a time when global interest in Korean culture, such as K-pop and K-food, is high. Their stories, set against Jeju's natural scenery and tranquil hanok houses, are expected to offer viewers deep emotion and healing.
Above all, the glamorous lineup of the "dokkaebi corps" that will lead the hotel draws attention. First, the "national mother" actor Ko Doo-shim will serve as the "chief dokkaebi," acting as the hotel's spiritual anchor. A native of Jeju, she will offer guests the finest hospitality in her hometown Jeju, setting aside her charismatic actor persona to show a new charm as a warm and sincere hotelier.
Actor Kwon Yul will take charge as the "operational dokkaebi" responsible for the hotel's upkeep. Moving between variety shows and acting while showing smart charm, he will assist chief dokkaebi Ko Doo-shim and anchor hotel operations. The hotel's face, the "front dokkaebi," will be actor Son Naeun, who will handle everything from check-in to guest conveniences with fluent foreign language skills and refined manners.
Chef Kim Dong-jun will be responsible for the kitchen. Using Jeju ingredients, he will present special menus that blend Korean and international cuisine to captivate guests' palates. Lee Dae Hwi of the group AB6IX joins as the "hall dokkaebi," where his unique friendliness and sense are expected to make him the hotel's mood maker as he interacts with guests.
Also joining as the all-purpose troubleshooter "transport dokkaebi" is actor and director Jeon Seong-gon (Gon captain), who will inject fresh energy. From airport pickups to local tour guiding, he will be guests' feet and introduce Jeju's every corner.
The production team said, "'Hotel Dokkaebi' captures 'true hospitality' that goes beyond simple accommodation to bring people together to exchange culture and share hearts," and added, "Please look forward to the laughter and touching dramas that the six dokkaebi with different charms will create with global guests."
"Hotel Dokkaebi" will premiere at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026.
