Actor Kang Hanna is showing another powerful transformation as the cool and calculating villain Joanna in the Netflix series 'Cashero'.
The Netflix series 'Cashero', in which Kang Hanna grants, is a life-centered "my money, my power" superhero story that follows salaried worker Sang-woong, who was struggling with wedding money and housing costs, as he gains the ability to become stronger the more money he holds. At its center, Kang Hanna plays Joanna, a leading heir apparent of the organization Criminals' Association that hunts superhumans, delivering a presence that instantly shakes the drama's tension and balance.
Believing that money and power are stronger than superpowers, Joanna uses them as weapons and relentlessly pursues superhumans and Sang-woong (played by Lee Jun-ho). Making her first appearance accompanied by bodyguards, Joanna douses those who use fire powers with a water cannon and liquid nitrogen, and if provoked, she immediately resorts to violence, showing an arrogant demeanor with no regard for others.
Competing with her younger brother Jonathan (played by Lee Chae-min) for the Criminals' Association succession, Joanna sharpened her desires and raised the drama's tension. Unhesitatingly saying to Nathan, "You should have shot and killed him," Joanna made it even clearer that she is a character who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals.
Kang Hanna portrayed the character Joanna coldly and convincingly completed the character's weight. With acting that excluded unnecessary emotions, she made even Joanna's arrogant attitudes and actions immediately understandable, and her restrained gaze and firm tone made the villain be perceived instead as a cold authority figure.
In the scene where, watching Sang-woong lose money the more he uses his powers, she delivers a cold, decisive intimidation saying, "You don't have money anymore, right? You damn beggar," Kang Hanna's restrained tone instantly imprinted Joanna's steadfast belief on viewers, becoming a highlight of the drama.
Despite the character's extreme emotional swings, Kang Hanna held the center of the drama with unfaltering acting, making Joanna the axis of the story and sharpening the conflict with the superhumans.
Having consistently varied her performances across diverse genres, Kang Hanna through 'Cashero' acted desire and power as another facet of a character, fully imprinting them. The coolness and ruthless resolve of Joanna add a new charm to Kang Hanna's filmography and raise expectations for her future moves.
Meanwhile, 'Cashero', in which Kang Hanna granted, was released in full on Netflix on the 26th and is drawing viewers' attention.
