Actor Kim Nam-hee won the honor of best supporting actor.
On the 30th broadcast of the 2025 MBC Drama Awards, Kim Sung-Ju and actor Lee Sun-bin served as MCs, and last year's presenter Jo Jae-yoon presented the supporting actor award.
That day, the male supporting actor nominees were Kim Nam-hee for "This River Has a Moon Flowing", Baek Hyun-jin for "Mary Kills People", Eum Moon-seok for "To the Moon", and Jeon Bae-soo for "Undercover High School." Kim Nam-hee won the award, drawing attention.
On stage, Kim Nam-hee opened by saying, "I'm a bit embarrassed to be given this award. The senior nominees who came up with me are all such outstanding actors. I feel like it may not quite suit me."
He went on, "Actually, I don't think I received this because my acting in this work was so good. Recently I have done several projects at MBC. So maybe it's like an attendance award — that's what I think," he joked.
He especially confessed, "Lately I've been worried about why I should act. We are actors, but sometimes I don't feel that being an actor suits me. I don't often introduce myself as actor Kim Nam-hee. I wonder why I act, why I should give joy to people, and what I should feel myself; I still don't really know. Am I doing it to make money, or because I want to be more successful than others? If I act for reasons like those, I find it somewhat uninteresting. I'm exactly 40 this year. In a couple of days I'll be over 40, and I'm at a stage of wondering whether to find that and act more, and how I should do it."
He also said, "But thanks to this, having unintentionally received the award, perhaps I should seek the end of my worries and work harder at acting. I'm very grateful to be given the award," and added, "I think those I'm grateful to know who they are even if I don't name them one by one. I'm sorry and grateful."
