Actor Kang Hyung suk is showcasing a distinctive presence in the tvN Saturday-Sunday drama PROBONO, playing an indispensable "mood maker" for the team.
Actor Kang Hyung suk adds to the drama's entertainment by portraying Hwang Jun-woo, a lawyer on the PROBONO team who elicits laughter with his realism, in the tvN Saturday-Sunday drama PROBONO (written by Moon Yoo-seok, directed by Kim Sung-yun).
PROBONO is a human courtroom drama that unfolds when an ambitious, self-serving judge who once sought success inadvertently becomes a public-interest lawyer and joins the zero-revenue public-interest team at a mega law firm. Kang Hyung suk naturally portrays Hwang Jun-woo, who tries hard at everything but is realistically clumsy and full of charm, through natural everyday acting.
In the previous episode, Jun-woo showed a bumbling side when he scored an own goal by mistaking the goalpost during a soccer match. Kang Hyung suk proved his role as a "mood maker" by highlighting Jun-woo's charm of being 2% short despite trying hard, which added vitality to the drama.
Jun-woo's 활약 continued. Jun-woo, who normally admires Kang Da-wit (played by Jung Kyungho), empathized and admired whenever Da-wit spoke, but when he didn't recognize the nation's little sister Elia (played by Jung Ji-so) who came to the team for a trial, he got excited, asking how anyone could not know Elia, and he elicited laughs and refreshed the show's atmosphere with a true fan moment, listing her activities and nicknames one after another.
There was also a moment when Hwang Jun-woo became serious. When he learned that the PROBONO team was facing dissolution and that Kang Da-wit had apparently bet with the company over the team's disbandment, Jun-woo's emotions exploded and he vented his anger at the respected Da-wit. "Attorney Kang may treat being on this team like a hobby, but I am on my fourth attempt to get a job. This is my lifeline!" he said, capturing the fierce survival instincts and hardships of a young lawyer who has nowhere to go if not for the PROBONO team, which heightened the tension of the work.
In this way, Kang Hyung suk not only adds vitality to the drama with his bubbly acting but also gave a fully dimensional portrayal of Hwang Jun-woo by sincerely depicting the concerns of a young professional seriously contemplating his future, leaving a definite impression.
