Actor Lee Si-young spoke directly and bowed her head regarding allegations of disturbing behavior at a campsite.
Recently, a post by an internet user identified as A saying they used a campsite near Jungwon Valley in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, on the 22nd was uploaded to an online camping community. A said, "a workshop group team (actor Lee Si-young) visited the campsite" and claimed they suffered great discomfort from noise and group behavior.
According to A, the group used several sites side by side and accompanied many vehicles, played music through Bluetooth speakers, and wandered the campsite with upper garments off, continuing a free-spirited atmosphere. He said, "the campsite was no longer a campsite but felt like a workshop or a college MT village."
He said nighttime noise was particularly problematic. A said, "they used a microphone to run games, and events proceeded in the form of listening to a song intro and guessing the title," and "the host's voice and the screams shouting answers could be heard vividly even inside the tents." He added that campsite quiet hours and rules prohibiting vehicle movement were not properly observed.
Concerns were also raised about poor management. A said, "the manager did not immediately intervene, and the event did not end until nearly midnight," and "the family with a 5-year-old child experienced extreme stress." The next day, a treasure hunt game, group activities, and even some participants' water-entry performances continued, and ultimately A's family decided to leave early.
Another user who said they used the campsite the same day also commented that "noise repeated on the second night, and after a treasure hunt that went through the entire campsite, trash cleanup was insufficient." The user pointed out that "even if the actor herself did not engage in problematic behavior directly, those involved should recognize that the actions of people around them can affect the actor's image."
As the controversy spread, Lee Si-young posted an apology on her SNS on the 29th. She bowed her head and said, "I am sorry to those who were inconvenienced at the campsite."
Lee Si-young explained, "the owner said the team that had booked that day thought we were the only ones there, so they thought only we were present. After checking, the owner told me that another team had arrived in the evening." She added, "because of my second child I arrived late in the afternoon, stayed only a few hours, and returned home first, so I could not know the detailed situation on site because I could not stay until late at night." Even so, she said, "I also believe that quiet hours at campsites are very important," and "I apologize once again for causing inconvenience."
Meanwhile, among some netizens responses have varied, saying "we should refrain from excessive criticism since she apologized" and "management responsibility should also be examined," while others have argued that "awareness of public-place manners is needed."
