Comedian Kim Soo-yong recalled meeting his deceased parents in a dream just before he came back from the brink of death after an acute myocardial infarction.
On the 29th, a video titled "Kim Soo-yong, who returned from death.. the story of that day (ft. Lim Hyung-jun, Gapyeong Fire Station emergency responders)" was uploaded to the Kim Sook TV channel.
That day, Kim Sook and Lim Hyung-jun, who assisted with Kim Soo-yong's cardiopulmonary resuscitation when he recently went into cardiac arrest from acute myocardial infarction, recalled and talked about the situation at the time. Kim Sook revealed urgent scene photos and said, "We did CPR for about 10 minutes, and the emergency responders did 20 minutes. The total was 30 minutes. But his breathing didn't return. It didn't return at all for 30 minutes," adding that the police even responded and an investigation was conducted.
Earlier, Kim Soo-yong had said on a broadcast, "They used the defibrillator seven times but his heart didn't come back. I thought he wouldn't recover and was heading to the mortuary," conveying how serious his condition had been.
Kim Sook asked, "So what's different? How do you feel?" asking about changes after waking from cardiac arrest, and Kim Soo-yong confessed, "I think I'm more relaxed. The frantic struggling seems to be gone."
In particular, he recalled, "My parents passed away last year and the year before. Two days before the cardiac arrest, my parents appeared in my dream. In the dream they appeared as if we were just living in the same house. Living with father and mother. They were not at all like deceased people. It felt natural to me. There was a pajama on one side. My father said, 'You wear it.' I put on that pajama. That's it. That's the content of the dream."
Kim Sook asked, "Were your mother and father cheerful?" and Kim Soo-yong said, "They were completely fine." Then Kim Sook, tearing up, said, "They really sent him back. They went and said, 'Hey, you're not yet! Hurry back.'"
Kim Soo-yong asked, "So appearing in the dream two days before was like that?" and Kim Sook said, "It seems they helped. It was just that feeling. Seeing them so healthy like that," expressing emotion.
Meanwhile, when asked, "Don't you remember the (cardiac arrest) situation at all?" Kim Soo-yong joked and made people laugh, saying, "I remember. The grim reapers were all lined up." Kim Sook clicked her tongue and said, "Now you're making this up," and Kim Soo-yong replied, "They were greeting me. 'Has the elder brother arrived? This is Reaper unit 582.' It was a newcomer who mistakenly wrote the name, not Kim Soo-yong. They told me to go quickly, so I came back."
Kim Sook retorted, "That guy must have been beaten up," and Kim Soo-yong joked, "He went to hell. Grim reapers usually don't send people to hell," drawing laughter. Kim Sook laughed and said, "How nice it is to be able to make jokes like this."
Meanwhile, that day Kim Sook, Lim Hyung-jun and Kim Soo-yong visited the emergency responder who saved Kim Soo-yong to express their gratitude. Kim Soo-yong cautiously asked, "At first when you arrived and did it, didn't you think there was little chance?" The emergency responder said, "In my experience, when I looked at the ECG rhythm, there are people who come back within four to six uses of the defibrillator, so I planned to rely on my experience, but as time went on I thought it wasn't easy, and usually we call the doctor once or twice, but I contacted them once more in the middle to ask," and added, "We actually used it 11 times. When I asked a senior, he said it's rare to see someone wake up after 11 times. We also administered drugs in the middle," which moved listeners.
Kim Soo-yong said, "The doctor was surprised. After cardiac arrest you would usually have paralysis somewhere or slurred speech, but he was so fine that the doctor said Mr. Kim Soo-yong was truly lucky," further adding to the surprise.
