Singer DinDin again drew attention with remarks calling out the entertainment industry's pretentiousness.
DinDin appeared on the Workman YouTube channel episode released on the 26th titled "300,000-won studio vs. 7 billion-won Han River view apartment," about a real estate agent assistant. When Lee Jun asked, "Why do entertainers all live with a Han River view?" DinDin jokingly shot back, "To film I Live Alone."
He said he once lived in an officetel with a view of the Han River, noting, "My first home had a Han River view," and "I wanted a Han River view. It was an officetel, and after living there, I thought I would freeze to death. A Han River view is trash." He continued, "In the summer, the river water splashes. In the winter, the river wind made it cold," listing the downsides of a home with a Han River view.
This is not the first time DinDin has spoken his mind. In Aug., he also appeared on Workman and worked with Lee Jun at a franchise coffee shop. At the time, when the store manager said with a sigh, "I wish they would at least pay a lot," Lee Jun answered unrealistically, "Don't you earn a lot? As a store manager, don't you hit 10 million won a month?"
DinDin then said, "This is the problem with entertainers. They have no concept of currency value. Because they drive supercars and stuff. Because they use Jennie's bed and stuff. They're out of their minds," drawing sympathy from viewers and making headlines.
After those remarks drew attention, he said, "I suddenly became a 'sensible entertainer,'" adding, "I'm the same as ever, but people used to say they hated me even for just breathing, and now even when I say the same things, they praise me as a sensible entertainer," showing a bewildered reaction.
He went on, "I became an 'icon of currency value.' I'm going crazy," and confessed, "When I wear expensive clothes, people say, 'They say that T-shirt costs 400,000 won,' in surprise." He added, "I think you need to know how the world works," and laid out his spending philosophy: "There's no particular reason I shouldn't spend."
