Kim Jong Kook was caught up in an unexpected "fake marriage" incident on a variety show. Even when flustered by the members' mischievous targeting, he did not hide his affection for his wife, showing his side as a devoted lover.
The SBS variety show Running Man, which aired on the 28th, was staged as a "product sweep year-end settlement" Race. As members tried to protect as many product badges as possible, a "Running year-end hearing" was held with opportunities to transfer badges, drawing laughter.
At the hearing, the selected representative member was pressured to "answer only yes or no," while an action command checklist that predicted and guessed members' words and actions was carried out. Kim Jong Kook was called as the person in question.
Kim Jong Kook entered the hearing with a firm resolve, saying, "I will never get excited," and when asked "three good things about being married," he revealed his boundless affection for his wife, saying, "Can it be three? She has no faults."
But the members' attacks did not stop. When asked the blunt question, "You actually haven't married, right?" Kim Jong Kook's poker face collapsed, and the place erupted in laughter as someone even suggested, "Isn't it a fake marriage?"
Yu Jae-seok pressed, "Since the marriage we have never seen the bride or seen any contact. Is it real?" and although Kim Jong Kook seemed flustered, he repeatedly emphasized, "I am married. I love my wife very much," adding to the laughter.
Kim Jong Kook's devoted-lover image continued on other broadcasts. On the recently released YouTube variety show "Park Jang Dae So," when Park Joonhyung asked, "Isn't it nice now that you're married?" Kim Jong Kook honestly replied, "Because my younger wife and I don't have children yet, there's not much difference from before marriage, but it's good."
When asked, "Don't you fight over tidying the house?" he said, "I hardly nag. I try to respect the time we each lived differently. If something is uncomfortable, I can fix it," drawing admiration. Hearing this, Jang Hyuk retorted, "Talk after you have kids!" and Kim Jong Kook, seemingly embarrassed, burst into laughter and warmed the scene.
Meanwhile, the fake marriage rumor on Running Man stemmed from the members' prank, but Kim Jong Kook, amid endless questions, repeatedly expressed his affection for his wife, firmly imprinting the image of a "devoted husband."
