Public opinion conscious? Lin replies "don't misunderstand" to speculation with ex-husband Lee Soo about "regretting the divorce" in a cryptic SNS post
The singer Lin's successive SNS posts have kept attention focused on her feelings after the divorce. After a cryptic sentence, she even posted a line from a movie, prompting interpretations that she might be "conscious of public opinion."
On the 28th, Lin posted a short message on her SNS saying, "Even if I break, I was someone who wanted to embrace someone." She did not add any further explanation, but since it was a message posted about four months after news of the divorce broke, it prompted interpretations that it might reflect her inner feelings.
Earlier, on the 25th, Lin drew attention by posting a video of waves crashing on the sea and using her ex-husband Lee Soo's song "Your Lights" as background music. It attracted more attention because he had not directly commented on personal feelings after the divorce announcement, and she chose Lee Soo's song.
As posts that evoke Lee Soo continued, netizens began reacting with comments such as "It seems she still has complicated feelings," and "Isn't she regretting the divorce?" Fans likewise offered various interpretations, saying, "It seems like a heartfelt message from Lin," and "It seems she expressed feelings she couldn't say through music and sentences."
Meanwhile, Lin shared another update on SNS the same day. She uploaded several photos capturing scenes from a movie, and a line from that scene drew attention. The phrases included, "You are beautiful and charming. My head is too cluttered," "Don't misunderstand, we are loving each other wonderfully," and "But others can easily define our relationship…"
Some have suggested that, combined with earlier speculation about "regretting the divorce," Lin may have been indirectly sending the message "don't misunderstand" out of concern for public opinion. In particular, the line "Don't misunderstand, we are loving each other wonderfully" has been interpreted as seeming aimed at the speculative reactions currently pouring in.
However, Lin has remained silent, offering no explanation about these posts.
Earlier, in November, Lin sent warm greetings to fans on her first birthday after the divorce. She said, "It's my birthday, and I don't know if it's an appropriate time to receive congratulations, but I felt it was right to thank those who sent their feelings," and added, "Thank you for always adding to my happiness and joy," receiving much support.
Meanwhile, Lin and Lee Soo announced their divorce in August. At the time, their agency 325E&C said, "We concluded the divorce process amicably based on sufficient discussion and mutual respect," and added, "There is no one party at fault." The agency also said, "Although their legal relationship has been settled, they plan to continue their relationship as musical colleagues."
Officially it was an amicable agreed divorce, but Lin's cautious remarks and SNS messages since then have kept interest in her true feelings alive. Fans are focused on what this move, which included cryptic writings and movie lines, might mean.
