On the 29th, agency PLEDIS Entertainment Co. posted "notice on legal response status related to infringement of artist rights" on the official fan community Weverse.
PLEDIS said, "Our company maintains a regular and firm policy of legal action against various malicious posts such as the spread of false information, insults and defamation directed at our artist SEVENTEEN, and as of the fourth quarter of 2025 we provide the following update on the progress," saying it was informing fans of the developments to date.
It added, "Regarding the suspect who spread false information online that the artist committed illegal acts, the investigative agency's probe found the suspect guilty of defamation by spreading false facts, and the case has been forwarded to the prosecution," and emphasized, "The act of spreading false information that damages the artist's honor and social evaluation is a crime that cannot be tolerated. In this regard, our company will not consider any settlement or leniency."
It also said, "Regarding a malicious X account that for a long time has continuously posted degrading expressions and posts containing false information targeting SEVENTEEN members, last November a U.S. court issued a decision granting the 1782 Application we submitted. Accordingly, through the U.S. law firm we retained, information disclosure procedures under applicable law (subpoena) against Google and X will proceed immediately," and warned of a strong response, saying, "Based on the identities confirmed, we will take all measures to hold them legally responsible to the fullest extent."
Regarding the unpublished information leak case, it explained, "The court found the leaker guilty of disclosing trade secrets and a fine was imposed and finalized." It added, "This quarter our company also strengthened real-time monitoring across major domestic communities, music sites and social media. As a result, we secured evidence of many high-severity malicious posts such as ridicule, denigration, sexual harassment, spreading false information and collective distortion targeting the artist, and these were included in the current lawsuit. Our company will pursue legal responsibility to the end through repeated and sustained documentation and lawsuits against such malicious posts."

In particular, we are keeping a close watch on habitual offenders who repeatedly post malicious content and accounts that deliberately spread distorted information targeting specific members, and we are pursuing criminal complaints and accusations when necessary.
