With the group NewJeans' full-group comeback falling through, ADOR has taken legal action against authors of malicious posts.
ADOR said on the 29th, "Our company has been strictly responding with a zero-tolerance policy, without settlement, to criminal acts that infringe on artists' rights, including malicious spreading false information targeting artists, invasion of privacy, the use of abusive language and derogatory names, and especially sexual harassment expressions toward underage members and racist remarks targeting foreign members."
The agency said, "As announced in our previous notice, our company filed complaints against authors of malicious posts at the end of November," and added, "We continue to conduct constant monitoring of major domestic communities and overseas SNS channels and music sites even after filing complaints."
It added, "Accordingly, we are requesting the deletion of malicious posts and collecting evidence, and, considering the severity of the matter, we have deployed additional external specialists. Additional complaints will be filed for newly secured cases of damage."
It also said, "Regarding deepfake crimes targeting artists, we have clearly conveyed our intention for strict punishment to investigative authorities and are actively cooperating in the investigation and punishment process. Our cooperation has been of practical help to smooth investigations and strong punishments, and there have been cases this past second half in which suspects were remanded or sentenced to prison. Our company will, in the future, pursue all legal measures available without settlement or leniency in any case regarding deepfake crimes."
Finally, it said, "We are always grateful for the fans' love and dedication, and ADOR will continue to work to protect artists' rights."
Meanwhile, on the same day ADOR announced the termination of Danielle's exclusive contract. The agency said, "In Danielle's case, we determined that it is difficult for her to continue as a NewJeans member and an ADOR artist, and our company notified her of the termination of the exclusive contract today. In addition, we will hold legally accountable one member of Danielle's family who bears significant responsibility for causing this dispute and NewJeans' departure and delayed return, and former CEO Min Hee-jin."
By contrast, Hanni is scheduled to return to NewJeans. ADOR said, "Hanni visited Korea with her family and had lengthy, in-depth conversations with ADOR. In that process, they reviewed past events and took time to look at the matter objectively. After sincere discussions, Hanni decided to be with ADOR, respecting the court's ruling."
