'Sikgaek Heo Yeongman's Baekban Journey' Song Gil-young was embarrassed by AI giving incorrect information.
On the 28th broadcast, TV CHOSUN 'Sikgaek Heo Yeongman's Baekban Journey' (hereafter 'Baekban Journey') featured big data expert Song Gil-young.
In the opening, Heo Yeong asked Song Gil-young, "These days when you open a newspaper, AI, ChatGPT comes out, so what is big data?" Song Gil-young replied succinctly, "Big data is the food you give to AI."
Heo Yeong also asked, "Have you watched 'Baekban Journey' a lot?" Song Gil-young said, "I have watched 'Baekban Journey' a lot. It is a program that calmly continues to show things as they are. The panorama of abundant meals with many side dishes that people used to eat at home is no longer easy to see, so through this I think it plays a role in evoking childhood memories and looking at the lives of Koreans."
Meanwhile, when asked about his job as a 'big data expert,' Song Gil-young began, "I have been doing this work for a long time. At first my job was to collect people's posts and photos and look for patterns in them. It's called data mining, data miner."
He went on, "When cellphones came out, people started taking photos and posting writings, and everyone began doing that work. Then information increased and it became known as big data. That was around 2010."
About AI he said, "This year what we worried about and looked at most was the rapid advancement of automation and intelligence. AI systems' IQs were below 100 last year but now are approaching 140. Everyone is getting smarter," drawing attention.
Heo Yeong asked, "To what extent will this affect individuals, workplaces and society?" Song Gil-young replied, "We have declared that we will hand simple tasks over to machines and deepen human work by doing more profound tasks. Humans will likely do more abstract work."
Meanwhile, Heo Yeong showed interest in AI, saying, "I want to open my eyes a bit too." Song Gil-young said, "If you ask AI it gives an answer right away. I'll show you," and asked the AI, "What is the name of the puffer fish restaurant in the Changwon episode of 'Baekban Journey'?"
However, the AI provided incorrect information, and an embarrassed Song Gil-young stammered, "This is not it. I'll do it again," and asked the question again, making Heo Yeong laugh. Asked "How did you know it wasn't the answer?" he replied, "It came out different from what I found yesterday, so I knew."
He added, "(AI) lies too. There's nothing you can do. It's not an error but a feature. So more deliberation and careful work is necessary. It's getting smarter, so it's learning to speak more precisely than before. The rate has dropped to one in a hundred. At first it lied more."
