Actor Lee Si-young apologized for the camping nuisance controversy.
Recently, a long post was uploaded on a camping café with the title "A workshop group team (actor Lee Si-young) came to the adjacent site."
The post's author, a person surnamed A, shared a situation in which they suffered damage from loud voices and speaker noise until late at a camping site in Yangpyeong. He said, "When I checked in and looked around the campsite, there were people using four sites side by side. Five to six cars were parked, and the feeling was not good. Very young people were behaving freely while music flowed from speakers, one person took off their top and, intoxicated by the atmosphere, moved around to the rhythm," and "As it got close to bedtime, several cars were coming and going while everyone gathered in one tent and started an event," he explained.
He continued, "Someone was hosting with a microphone and dividing themselves into teams like Team 1 and Team 2 to listen to song intros and guess the titles. The host's voice coming through the microphone and people excitedly shouting answers, including screams, could be heard vividly inside our tent. It was chaotic, but the grandmother at the nearby office said she was hard of hearing and didn't know. Even after the grandmother went there and warned them, it went on for a while, and around midnight, maybe after they finished playing, the invited people came out one by one to say goodbye and left by car. The 11 p.m. quiet time and the signs prohibiting vehicle movement had no effect," the victim complained.
The next morning, person surnamed A, who received an apology and partial expense waivers from the campsite owner, said, "But things got worse after that. They put a Bluetooth speaker on a car and played music all the time, and the campsite did not intervene. After lunch they started a treasure hunt inside the campsite. They even came next to our tent to hide items. Many people noisily peered around our tent to find the treasure. Shortly after, someone nearby had to perform a penalty and had an initiation into the water. Again there was a leader conducting through an external speaker and shouting," and "At 4 p.m., a couple who checked in late were pitching their tent at the spot farthest from them. I wonder if they had a good day," he said, describing the noise and other damage that continued until checkout.
Later, person surnamed A explained in comments, "During the morning confrontation with the owner, they said it was a group associated with Lee Si-young. I didn't see her face directly, but someone found an Instagram post and after comparing I realized it too," and also uploaded a photo of a vehicle presumed to belong to Lee Si-young's side.
In particular, the 'couple who checked in late' mentioned by person surnamed A appeared and intensified the controversy. Introducing themselves as "the couple who pitched late at 4 p.m.," a person surnamed B said, "It's surprising that it was Lee Si-young's team. These people made the same noise on the second night. Kids were coming and going to our tent area without consideration, and when I looked I saw they were doing a treasure hunt. When they left, trash they had scattered remained. They even left rolled-up insulating mats they had brought to lay on the ground in the dishwashing area," and "Even if actor Lee Si-young herself wasn't like that, the actions of her associates should make them realize the tremendous damage they can do to the actor's image," they pointed out.
In fact, on the 23rd Lee Si-young posted on her social account, "Wherever you go and whoever you meet, happy Christmas to all," and uploaded photos and videos of herself, her son and acquaintances enjoying a late-night party and games at the campsite. Person surnamed A also discovered the post through other netizens' tips and became convinced that the workshop group in question were associates of Lee Si-young. Netizens who saw this criticized not only the inconsiderate actions of Lee Si-young's associates but also the campsite's inadequate response for failing to properly restrain them despite the disturbance to other users.
As the controversy grew, on the 29th Lee Si-young posted belatedly, "I apologize to those who were uncomfortable at the campsite. I was told that the team that reserved the campsite that day thought we were the only ones there, so they thought only we were present. After checking, the owner told me one team had come and was there in the evening," and "I went late in the afternoon because of my second child and could not stay until late at night, so I went home after a few hours and didn't know the detailed situation. I also think quiet time is very important when at a campsite, and I apologize again," offering explanation and apology.
