Cha Ga-won, chairman of PEAC Group, denied allegations including an affair in full and said he has taken legal action.
On the 29th, Cha Ga-won's legal representative, law firm Kwangjang, released an official statement titled "Notice of legal action regarding false and unverified reports related to Chairman Cha Ga-won."
Earlier, The Fact Co. on the 24th claimed that MC Mong and Chairman Cha Ga-won were involved in an affair in the past, and that during the affair Cha Ga-won transferred an amount reaching 12 billion won to MC Mong. The report also claimed that MC Mong's termination of the contract with One Hundred was because the two had broken up. Along with this, messenger chat logs purportedly exchanged between MC Mong and Cha Ga-won were also released. The chats suggested that the two had made efforts to conceive, which shocked readers.
Meanwhile, Cha Ga-won's side complained of damage, saying, "Not only is the content reported by The Fact Co. completely untrue, but it is extremely sensational and provocative, and as a result Chairman Cha Ga-won's personal rights, honor and social reputation have been severely damaged to an irreparable degree, and even the tranquility of his private life has been ruthlessly trampled."
They went on to say, "The writing, posting and distribution of the article and the video in this case constitute ① a violation of the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation), ② a violation of Article 307 of the Criminal Act (defamation), and other criminal statutes, and ③ grounds for claims for damages under Article 30 of the Act on Press Arbitration and Damage Remedies and Articles 750 and 751 of the Civil Act, or for orders to restore honor under Article 31 of the Act on Press Arbitration and Damage Remedies and Article 764 of the Civil Act, and ④ a serious and clear infringement of the basic right to the secrecy and freedom of private life under Article 17 of the Constitution that the subject of the case should enjoy."
They added, "Our law firm informs you that, as of Dec. 29, 2025, we have already initiated civil and criminal legal actions concerning violations of applicable laws as described above against The Fact Co. and all persons responsible for writing, posting and distributing the article and the video in this case," and "We inform you that all factual matters related to the article and the video will be made clear through subsequent legal procedures, and we ask that unnecessary reporting that could cause irreparable damage to Chairman Cha Ga-won, his family members and the various corporations he manages be restrained."
Meanwhile, MC Mong also immediately denied the affair allegations with Chairman Cha Ga-won after the report came out. He claimed that Cha Jun-young, Chairman Cha Ga-won's uncle, visited him and threatened him to hand over Big Planet Made's equity, and that in the process he was given chats that manipulated his relationship with Chairman Cha Ga-won, who is a friend. He also warned, "From now on, I will sue everyone who talks about military service fraud, affairs or unspeakable things."

Our law firm, as the legal representative of PEAC Group Chairman Cha Ga-won, informs you of the following legal actions regarding the article posted on the website of The Fact Co. at around 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2025 (hereinafter "the article") and the video distributed via its YouTube channel (hereinafter "the video").
The Fact Co., in writing, posting and distributing the article and the video in this case, did not request any factual confirmation from Chairman Cha Ga-won, who is the direct interested party and subject, nor did it guarantee the right of reply, and by publishing his real name in the article and video titles, it presented Chairman Cha Ga-won as the married celebrity Shin Dong-hyun (MC Mong)'s extramarital partner and distributed that determination to the unspecified public through its website and YouTube channel.
However, the content reported by The Fact Co. is not only completely untrue, but is so sensational and titillating that it has severely and irreparably damaged Chairman Cha Ga-won's personal rights, honor and social reputation, and has even ruthlessly trampled on the tranquility of his private life.
