Disappointment with comedian Park Narae and YouTuber Ipsjapkeun Haetnim, who are suspected of illegal medical procedures, is showing up in numbers. Those who had supported them are abandoning them one after another by clicking "unsubscribe."
On the 28th, according to YouTube statistics site Social Blade, Park Narae's YouTube channel "Naraesik" and Ipsjapkeun Haetnim's YouTube channel "Ipsjapkeun Haetnim" have 329,000 and 1.71 million subscribers, respectively.
Park Narae's channel recorded a peak of 344,000 subscribers, but subscribers began to leave after the manager bullying allegations surfaced on the 8th. As a result of cancellations of as few as 1,000 and as many as 2,000 subscribers a day, about 20,000 people have left.
Subscriber departures are clearly visible for Ipsjapkeun Haetnim's channel. Subscribers, who numbered 1.76 million as of the 17th, began to decrease after the alleged involvement in the "injection aunt" gate and Ipsjapkeun Haetnim's apology. On the 18th, 10,000 left, followed by 20,000 unsubscribing on the 19th. On the 21st and 23rd another 10,000 left each time, bringing the number down to 1.71 million.
Park Narae was embroiled in allegations of manager bullying of former managers and controversy over receiving illegal medical procedures from the "injection aunt," and she decided to leave all the programs she was appearing on and suspend activities. Park Narae herself said, "As a comedian whose job is to give laughter and enjoyment, I have decided to suspend broadcasting activities until everything is neatly resolved, because I believe I can no longer cause trouble for programs and colleagues," and announced it.
On the 16th, Park Narae sent a final statement saying, "There are aspects of the current allegations that need to be calmly verified for factual accuracy, and legal procedures are underway. I will refrain from additional public remarks or explanations during that process. I judge that this matter is not a personal feeling or relationship issue but something that should be objectively confirmed through official procedures," and then additionally sued her former managers on embezzlement charges.
Ipsjapkeun Haetnim was accused of receiving drugs illegally from the "injection aunt," receiving treatment using medical devices located in Ilsan, and delivering drugs to Park Narae. In response, Ipsjapkeun Haetnim said, "I first met the person at a Gangnam District hospital through an introduction from an acquaintance, so I believed without question that they were a doctor and received treatment, and I thought Mr./Ms. A was an actual doctor. I should have been more careful and cautious in my conduct, and not having done so is my great failing, and I deeply regret it," and suspended activities.
The two who appeared together on Amazing Saturday had their wings clipped by the direct hit of the "injection aunt" gate. The embers of suspicion are still alive. It seems impossible to prevent further subscriber departures.
