Former EXO member Tao said his weight increased to 90kg after getting married.
According to multiple Chinese media reports on the 28th, Tao recently appeared on a Chinese variety program and revealed that his weight reached 90kg, drawing attention.
Earlier, Tao held a lavish wedding in Hainan Province, China, last October with singer and actor Xuiyang, a former SM Rookies member, and they became husband and wife. After that, Tao attracted attention with the disappearance of his jawline.
On that broadcast, Tao experienced a situation in which he was suddenly dragged by the production staff while sleeping without being able to put on his pants. Startled, Tao shouted, "I'm heavy. 90kg."
The cast members watching teased Tao, saying, "You gained weight," and one cast member asked, "So does marriage really make you gain happy weight?"
Tao explained, "I've already managed a lot and lost a little. I'm not that fat," but he also drew laughter by returning to his room and checking himself in the mirror.
Later, Tao candidly revealed on a live broadcast the reason for his weight gain, saying, "My wife's food is too delicious. I'm so happy because of it," which provoked a hot reaction.
Meanwhile, Tao and Xuiyang share the common background of having come from SM Entertainment. They are currently under the same roof at China's Longtao Entertainment. Tao debuted as an EXO member in 2012 but left in 2015 and has been active in China since then.
Xuiyang joined SM Entertainment as a trainee in 2014 and appeared on "MY SMT" in 2016 alongside aespa member Ningning. She left SM Entertainment in 2018 and is active in China, having competed on audition programs several times.
