Group WJSN member Dayoung seized a second chance with her solo debut.
On the 28th broadcast of KBS CoolFM Park Myung Soo's Radio Show's "11 o'clock my hometown" corner, a phone call between WJSN's Dayoung and Park Myung Soo was featured.
That day Park Myung Soo said of Dayoung's activities, "She is getting sexier and sexier," and mentioned the collaboration stage with Park Jae-beom. Dayoung said, "I went out as a special guest. The senior gave me two minutes to make me stand out. Thanks to that I was able to work without resting at the end of the year," and Park Myung Soo laughed, "Park Jae-beom did something great for his junior, but I don't know why he was taking his top off like that." Dayoung replied, "As someone who also takes her top off," and said, "Our song is 'figure,' 'body,' so we removed the rags that were blocking us."
Dayoung said of 2025, "It is the year that let me live a second life," and said, "I wondered if a second chance could come in life, but the opportunity was given again, so I will live diligently to seize it." She added about preparing an album in the United States after saying she was going on vacation, "My mother told me to have that kind of courage. Everyone gets opportunities, but if you're not prepared you can't seize them, so I have always prepared thinking that one day the opportunity might come."
Dayoung said, "When I don't have a schedule I study English every day. I meet with a teacher and also study by myself," and added, "There are many things I want to express, and I don't want to feel the barrier of language. Also, because it is a language used widely around the world, I am working harder on it."
Dayoung participated across production, from planning to writing and composing, for the title track "body" of her first solo album released last September, "gonna love me, right?" That song immediately after release recorded a peak of No. 9 on Melon's "Top 100" and won a first-place trophy on music shows, and it sparked a challenge craze on short-form platforms, becoming a public pick and receiving much love. In particular, it was selected as one of the "best K-pop songs of 2025" by Billboard and NME, and it was also named to Teen Vogue's "best K-pop music videos of 2025."
Dayoung said, "It feels like a dream and I am happy. I want to become someone who matches that, so I am practicing harder. I hope to expand not only to the United States but anywhere. I'm preparing an album next year, so please look forward to it." Park Myung Soo responded, "I hope you keep stretching further in 2026."
Finally, when asked about "the best thing I did this year" as the year-end approached, Dayoung said, "Debuting as a solo on Sept. 9," and said, "I wanted to receive a lot of love, and I am receiving a lot of love."
