The father of broadcaster Kim Seung-hyun decided to retire after feeling the limits of 50 years of factory work.
On the 28th, the YouTube channel "Gwangsan Kim family" released a video titled "Father, thank you for all your hard work until now."
In the video, Kim Seung-hyun's father, Kim Eon-jung, said, "I have worked at the factory for nearly 50 years, but now I am getting older and my body keeps showing limits," and said he wants to retire around May or June next year.
Kim Seung-hyun's mother, Baek Ok-ja, said, "I used to help a lot in the past, but now that I've stopped, isn't it harder?" and worried, "If you quit, how will you support yourself? Where will you go to work?" In response, Kim Eon-jung said, "I am not someone who idly stays at home. I will take responsibility for our family, so don't worry at all."
While recognizing her husband's hard work, Baek Ok-ja recalled the days when she raised the children and even cooked for the factory workers. Baek Ok-ja comforted her husband, saying, "I know how hard factory work is. Still, I'm glad you're healthy," and showed her damaged hands, saying, "I raised both children by myself and made kimchi and meals for the factory workers."
Kim Eon-jung said, "Rather than retiring, I decided to try other work as a pastime. Thank you very much for everything," and Baek Ok-ja confidently drew attention by saying, "If we work hard and become more popular than our children, can't we take the channel? We'll get the gold button."
