Starship Entertainment posted concept photos for Joohoney's mini album 2 '光 (INSANITY)', set to be released on Jan. 5, on Monsta X's official social media on the 27th.
In the released photos, Joohoney is shown immersed in music work or lost in thought in a room, portraying a passionate young man. The combination of objects such as a keyboard, headset and bed with Joohoney's natural facial expressions drew attention by depicting the moment when a pure obsession with music begins.
Meanwhile, in another released photo he exuded the aura of an artist on stage. Against a background of lights and speakers, Joohoney, holding a microphone, stared at the camera with an intense gaze and dominated the stage. This contrasted with the earlier image of the young man and symbolically illustrates the album's narrative in which the impulse and passion of the youth who first grasped music and the weight of the artist on stage collide and ultimately merge into one light.
Joohoney's new release '光 (INSANITY)', set for release on Jan. 5, is his solo album unveiled about 2 years and 8 months after his mini album 1 '라이트(LIGHTS)' released in May 2023. Through this album Joohoney is expected to further solidify his unique musical world by proving his solid capabilities as a rapper, singer, producer and director.
Earlier, after releasing the pre-release track 'Push (Feat. 레이 of IVE)' on the 22nd to foreshadow musical expansion, the track list was released, heightening comeback excitement. Joohoney participated in the lyrics, composition and producing of all seven tracks on the album, enhancing its completeness and authenticity, and attracted attention with featured artists across genres and eras from Rei to Tiger JK and Muhammad Ali. Among them the title track that runs through the album's narrative 'STING (Feat. Muhammad Ali)' teases a feature from the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali and piques music fans' curiosity.
Meanwhile, Joohoney's mini album 2 '光 (INSANITY)' will be released at 6 p.m. (KST) on Jan. 5 on various online music sites.
