MONSTA X (MONSTA X) member Jooheon is building anticipation for his full-fledged comeback by releasing various content.
Recently, Jooheon captivated global fans by presenting diverse content related to the pre-release track "Push (Feat. Rei of IVE)" (hereafter "Push") on his official YouTube channel and multiple platforms.
The pre-release track "Push" from Jooheon's mini album 2 "光 (INSANITY)", due to be released on Jan. 5, is an R&B track that Jooheon wrote and composed himself, delicately capturing the wavering between love and one's own feelings within a push-and-pull relationship. Rei of IVE participates as a featured artist, harmonizing with Jooheon's vocals and receiving strong responses from listeners.
First, on the YouTube channel "1theK Live"'s "outdoor recording studio" content, Jooheon exuded a distinctive sensibility. Breaking free from the formal studio, Jooheon appeared under the soft glow of streetlights between buildings, pairing a white turtleneck knit with a black coat to enhance the seasonal feel. With delicate facial acting and flawless live performance, he delivered an immersive experience like a scene from a short film, and a low humming flowing over Rei's narration in the latter part of the song completed a dreamy atmosphere.
The special video featuring Rei is also drawing attention. Released recently on MONSTA X's official channel under the title "Just a Cute Little Moment," the video captures the playful senior-junior chemistry between the two against a recording studio backdrop. Jooheon and Rei appear in casual styles, perfectly executing the signature choreography for "Push," and their delicate facial expressions immersed in the lyrics maximized their cute yet friendly appeal.
This buzz has translated into chart performance. After its release, "Push" entered the Melon HOT100 chart and the iTunes Top Songs charts in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Qatar, and went on to enter the iTunes K-pop Top Songs charts in 15 countries and regions worldwide, including the United States, Japan, Qatar, Malaysia, Thailand, Norway, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Australia, Mexico, France, Turkey, Brazil, Germany and Canada, proving Jooheon's global presence.
Boosted by the successful pre-release activities, Jooheon will release his mini album 2 "光 (INSANITY)" at 6 p.m. on the 5th of next month. This new release, in which Jooheon participated in producing all the tracks, is expected to consolidate his abilities as an all-around artist.
