Through "My Grumpy Secretary," Lee Seo-jin mentioned the late Lee Soon-jae.
On the 26th broadcast of SBS entertainment show My Grumpy Secretary (hereinafter "My Grumpy Secretary"), actress Han Jimin made a surprise appearance like a Christmas gift, drawing attention. In particular, interest had been high even before the broadcast over the reunion with Lee Seo-jin, with whom she formed a bond in the 2007 MBC drama "Isan".
Han Jimin worked with Kim Kwang-kyu in 2022 on tvN's "Our Blues" and built a deep bond with Lee Seo-jin as his co-star in "Isan." "Isan," which recorded a peak viewership rating of 35.5%, was loved after filming 77 episodes over about a year. Later, anecdotes about the two revealed through variety shows were consistently a hot topic as their chemistry was called "sibling chemistry." They also received much love for their Tom and Jerry–like bickering chemistry on tvN's "Three Meals a Day – Seaside Ranch" and the YouTube variety show "Pinkegeo."
That day, from the start Han Jimin delivered cutting lines to Lee Seo-jin, and Kim Kwang-kyu referred to himself as "Isar" while calling Lee Seo-jin "substitute," openly (?) treating them differently. Kim Kwang-kyu showed a bewildered reaction to the comment "you don't have to receive the handover," but Lee Seo-jin, for the first time in the program's history, took the wheel himself and bought meals, showing a completely different side by "running errands on foot," which drew laughter. Seeing this, Kim Kwang-kyu could not hide his surprise, saying, "She must have a lot on Han Jimin."
The conversation naturally shifted to the time they worked together on "Isan." The two recalled how difficult filming was, saying in unison, "We shot for more than a year" and "I don't think I could do it again now."
In the process, Lee Seo-jin drew attention by mentioning the script and senior actor Lee Soon-jae. He recalled, "Back then the script would come out at dawn and we would go into filming right away in the morning. In that situation, there were hardly any people who had properly memorized the script," and added, "But senior Lee Soon-jae was the only one who had memorized it all."
He continued, "I had always respected him, but seeing him then I felt he was even more remarkable," showing continued respect. It was a moment that once again shone a light on Lee Soon-jae, who served as an example to younger colleagues even amid difficult shoots.<
