'Reply 1988' revealed a 10th anniversary poster, and the newly reshot poster drew attention for a composition markedly different from the transfer.
On the 26th, the second episode of tvN variety show Reply 1988's 10th anniversary special aired.
The Ssangmundong family, who finally arrived at the lodging with a 'MT' banner hung, began the full-fledged reunion time to spend 2 Days & 1 Night together. In particular, the poster shoot conducted again after 10 years drew attention.
On the set, Hyeri showed the same chemistry by calling out "Bogum-i" and tending to Park Bo Gum's hair while he briefly stepped away from his seat. Above all, the seating arrangement caught the eye. In the original Reply 1988 poster from 10 years ago, the person who stood by Hyeri was Ryu Jun-yeol, but in this shoot Park Bo Gum filled that spot, creating a curious contrast. Hyeri also affectionately took care of him, calling, "Bogum-ah."
In the previously released video, actors who led the 'Eungpal' syndrome — Seong Dong Il, Lee Ilhwa, Ra Miran, Kim Sung-kyun, Ryu Hyeyoung, Park Bo Gum, Ko Kyung-pyo, Ahn Jaehong, Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri — all made an appearance, adding to the delight with a company dinner scene that seemed to faithfully recreate the Ssangmundong days of 1988.
The reunion after 10 years was still warm, but the scene that drew the most attention was the 'crossing paths' between Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri. Although both appeared in various parts of the trailer, their appearance timings were exquisitely offset, their paths never overlapped, and the composition continued as if they had naturally avoided each other.
Ryu Jun-yeol and Hyeri formed a relationship through 'Eungpal,' acknowledged their public dating in 2017, continued their relationship for six years and broke up last year. Whether the two would reunite was therefore a matter of public interest, but in the end they did not appear side by side in the same frame.
tvN explained, "Ryu Jun-yeol could not join the entire MT schedule due to his schedule, but he participated in some shoots considering the significance of the 10th anniversary." It was reported that Ryu Jun-yeol was busy filming the Netflix new work 'Deuljwi' at the time.
Producer Na Young-seok also said, "All the Ssangmundong family actually gathered without anyone missing," and added, "Ryu Jun-yeol, who had filming that day, briefly stopped by in the morning and left," dismissing speculation raised by some that his absence was intentional.
In other words, Ryu Jun-yeol simply could not join the entire MT schedule, but despite his busy schedule he briefly showed his face at the event commemorating the 10th anniversary. However, in the photos Hyeri took with a film camera, Ryu Jun-yeol was captured separately, conveying a subtle gap that, though they were in the same space, they ultimately did not stand together.
Instead of Ryu Jun-yeol, who guarded the seat next to Hyeri in the poster from 10 years ago, Park Bo Gum filling that seat this time symbolically shows relationships changed with the passage of time and has become another topic of conversation.<
