Actor Lee Je-hoon began a new run in the SBS drama 'Taxi Driver 3' and continued an unstoppable sprint.
Lee Je-hoon portrays Kim Do-gi in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3' (directed by Kang Bo-seung, written by Oh Sang-ho, produced by Studio S, Group 8, BN Entertainment), drawing both a warm empathy for victims and a cold rationality toward perpetrators, earning viewers' sympathy. In the previous episode, he cast a bait to lure the perpetrator of a used-goods transaction scam and opened the curtain on a full-scale 'real education.'
In episode 11, Kang Maria (played by Jo In) visited Rainbow Transport repair shop saying her adopted younger sister Park Da-som received a delivery containing bricks instead of the leather gloves their father had bought as a gift, and Chief Choi (played by Jang Hyuk-jin) went out alone to help Da-som but instead suffered an additional 5 million won loss and returned looking haggard. After hearing the story, Do-gi decided to resolve the case to restore the damage they suffered, and the Rainbow Transport team launched a full-scale hunt for the scammer.
Do-gi and Go-eun (played by Pyo Ye-jin) went to the sender's address using the delivery label of the package with bricks as a clue, and there they found Yoo Min-jung, who had been attempting an extreme act, making Do-gi sense that the case was unusual. Yoo Min-jung, who had been suspected as the perpetrator, was also a victim of the used-goods transaction scam, and her daily life had been devastated by the scammer's persistent threats and harassment.
Based on these circumstances, Do-gi sensed that the perpetrator was a bold, cruel scammer who enjoyed sadistic games and was convinced it was an organized criminal group rather than a simple con artist. The Rainbow Transport team narrowed their investigation using the clue that the only trace left by the perpetrator, who was thoroughly disguised with fake IDs, accounts and mobile phones, was the 'voice.' While tailing Yoo Min-jung to track down those who had taken photos, Do-gi found a private investigation agency presumed to have taken the photos himself.
In a standoff to identify who had commissioned the photography, Do-gi subdued the situation with sheer force. However, when it was revealed that the client information left at the private investigation agency had stolen Chief Choi's personal details, the case descended into a maze. Then, with Go-eun's idea of 'if you can't find them, let's make them come to us,' the Rainbow Transport team successfully lured the scammer by posting on a used-goods app that they were looking for concert tickets, and launched a full-scale counterattack. Do-gi succeeded in locating the scammer, but discovered that he was merely a part-time worker receiving pay and that a separate practical 'director' existed, leaving lingering questions and tension as the episode ended.
In this episode, Lee Je-hoon returned as the true Kim Do-gi, convincingly leading the drama with restrained acting that showed cool judgment and deep empathy for victims. After taking on the new case, rather than letting emotions lead when facing victims, he calmly assessed situations and approached the truth, revealing the irresistible dignity of Kim Do-gi without filter. In the latter half, Kim Do-gi's moment of kicking off a full-scale 'real education' to find the perpetrator lost in the maze was depicted impressively, heightening viewers' interest to a peak.
Also, in the operation to lure the criminal perpetrator with a decoy, Lee Je-hoon enhanced the drama's focus with unusually delicate acting, and his sharp eye acting in the phone call scene showed the actor's magnetism. In particular, with a brief gesture of putting on leather gloves at the private investigation agency, Lee Je-hoon stylishly dominated the atmosphere and instantly subdued his opponent, displaying Kim Do-gi's signature wit and charisma at once and completing a straight-drive mode. His relentless energy pushing toward a full-scale real education vividly reaffirmed the irreplaceable strength of the Kim Do-gi character and greatly increased anticipation for future developments.
Meanwhile, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3,' which continues to generate high buzz with intense developments and retribution each episode, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
