Comedian Lee Kyung-kyu confessed that he underwent a heart stent procedure immediately after finishing a broadcast recording.
On the 25th, content titled "Lee Kyung-kyu is surprised by his son's rapid growth from 15 years ago (enrolled at Seoul National University)" was released on Lee Kyung-kyu's YouTube channel "God Kyung-kyu."
In this content, Lee Kyung-kyu met Jung Ji-woong, the son of actor Jung Eun-pyo, who had appeared on the past SBS variety show "Bungeo-ppang." Lee Kyung-kyu introduced him saying, "I raised Ji-woong for about five years. I cried a lot back then," and asked about his recent life.
Lee Kyung-kyu and Jung Ji-woong shared memories from the "Bungeo-ppang" days. Lee Kyung-kyu also offered advice to Jung Ji-woong, who is enrolled at Seoul National University and nurturing a dream in music.
To Jung Ji-woong, who was worrying realistically, he said, "At this age you should say it's something you like. Is money everything? It's about living doing what you like. But we say, 'I did what I like and money followed.' That's an excuse. Money doesn't just follow. You have to work hard."
He added, "When I was recording 'Bungeo-ppang' in full swing, my heart became blocked. After finishing the 'Bungeo-ppang' recording I went to the hospital and had surgery. A 'stent' procedure. But I didn't hand the recording over to someone else; I finished everything and then went to get the stent. It was while I was doing 'Bungeo-ppang,'" drawing attention. Lee Kyung-kyu had seen the recording through to the end.
Jung Ji-woong, surprised by Lee Kyung-kyu's confession, asked, "I still wasn't someone who caused a lot of trouble, right?" and Lee Kyung-kyu said, "When he cried, a 1 percent rating was good. If I wanted to raise ratings, slowly… he had a lot of tears."
Jung Ji-woong confessed, "I cried a lot back then. If the man scratched me a bit, tears would come right away. I think I cried almost every week back then. I remember always going to the set excited and going home feeling gloomy. I think the shoots back then were a very precious experience. Who else would get to do that?"
