Actor Han Go-eun revealed the shocking experience of having suffered a sudden paralysis of her lower body in the past and stressed the importance of health.
On the 25th, a video titled "Why an American oriental medicine doctor was surprised after seeing 50-year-old menopausal Han Go-eun's recent health condition" was released on Han Go-eun's YouTube channel "Goeun unnie Han Go-eun." In the video, Han Go-eun met American oriental medicine doctor Nabi Nima and spoke about her recent health concerns and a dizzying moment she experienced in the past.
Han Go-eun, who is 50 this year, said, "I have been in a lot of pain lately. My inflammation markers went up, and I had pyelonephritis for about two weeks," and updated on her condition. The oriental medicine doctor took her pulse and said, "You are in a state of excessive stress. Your body is deficient but you are forcing yourself to endure," diagnosing, "If you don't rest when you should and overexert yourself, decreased blood circulation can cause muscles to tighten easily and lead to functional decline," and advised, "Rest for now."
Hearing this, Han Go-eun brought up the lower-body paralysis she experienced three winters ago. She recalled, "I went to a resort to play with my dog and was peacefully playing with it when suddenly there was a 'ttuk' sound in my lower back and I felt myself collapse. I couldn't move at all in that condition," adding, "Only my toes moved a little, so I felt the nerves were alive, but it hurt so much that I was holding on with my arm strength."
She said the incident occurred in the dog play area inside the ski resort. Han Go-eun said, "I was so embarrassed that I couldn't even think of calling 119. But the resort was far from the city and they said it would take more than 40 minutes even if 119 came," and described the situation at the time, "Fortunately, the ski resort's emergency medical staff brought a stretcher and took me away."
She said she received painkillers at the hospital and underwent a procedure at a hospital near her home, saying, "After injuring my back, I couldn't move at all on the second day, and on the third day I crawled. Then on the sixth day my back straightened like a miracle," adding, "I cried a lot then."
Finally, Han Go-eun emphasized, "After going through that, I felt painfully that you must protect your health while you have it," and stressed, "Don't regret it after getting sick; take care of yourself in advance."
Meanwhile, Han Go-eun marked her 30th anniversary since debut this year. She debuted as a model in 1995, established herself as an actress through works such as the sitcom "LA Arirang" and the film "The Sun Does Not Exist," and continues various activities to this day.
