YouTuber and broadcaster Chimchakman (real name Lee Byeong-geon) warmed hearts with news of an end-of-year donation.
On the 26th, Community Chest of Korea (chairman Kim Byung-joon) said creator Chimchakman (real name Lee Byeong-geon) donated 10 million won in the name of "Chimchakman and the Chimtubu specialized viewer team" and joined the year-end and New Year intensive fundraising campaign "Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign."
This donation was made to commemorate Chimchakman's birthday (Dec. 5). Chimchakman said, "On my birthday, I wanted to do something meaningful with the viewers who have helped build Chimtubu," and added, "I hope this sentiment reaches those in need."
Chimchakman is the name webtoon artist Lee Mal-nyeon uses when active as a creator, and he operates a total of four channels centered on the YouTube channel "Chimchakman." The main channel has 3.04 million subscribers, and based on his public influence he continues to participate in a variety of content activities and social contribution.
Lee Seong-do, head of fundraising at Community Chest of Korea, said, "Chimchakman's donation is a case of expanding a personal anniversary into social sharing," and added, "The participation of creators with influence over the public is helping lower the threshold for donations."
In addition, Community Chest of Korea broadcasts donor names on KBS "News 9" as part of donor recognition for those who donate 300,000 won or more. Chimchakman will also have his name listed as a donor through this donation and is scheduled to be introduced on the broadcast on the 26th.
Meanwhile, Chimchakman had announced via YouTube that he plans to take a break in January.
